Winston Salem Home sales have shown an upswing since spring 2009. Phillip Rector, the president of the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors, said he is encouraged that homebuyers are returning and that prices have stabilized in the local housing market. "We have been saying for most of the second quarter that home sales appear to have bottomed out in the first quarter of 2009 and are showing signs of improvement," Rector said.
